But I could have done with a little more sympathy from the luck Gods here apart from the gambling time suck I felt the pacing was mostly consistent with only a couple of places where the difficulty shot up significantly there’s this one absolutely horrible cave where Boulders are constantly raining down from off screen that have no predictable pattern whatsoever they took off huge chunks of health and I died more times than I could count trying to get through here while also trying to make a sense of the maze like interior of this place my other biggest game Enders were long stretches of later levels that were incredibly hard to get through with my limited resources if more than one enemy on screen had a rocket launcher it was very likely that death was imminent sometimes simply getting through a tough segment alone wasn’t good enough Med kits and defense vests are limited so if you take on too many hits or heal too much in one part of the stage you might not have enough resilience to get through the rest of it this is especially true if there’s a boss to worry about at the end and as much as this is an action game with lots of problem solving to work through it’s also an exercise in resource management For Better or Worse the weapons inventory is incredibly varied and versatile but you start out the game with only your fists to attack as a quick aside I thought James Bond’s little punch in Block stances were hilarious his Sprite is so animated and funny to me and even though it’s not super detailed these two moves in particular are where I think he Shone the most anyway as you explore around you’ll pick up other weapons and ammo and surprisingly they dropped quite frequently even though they were limited I was never too concerned about needing to ration my shots at any point between these and the melee weapon like the machete I was thrilled to actually have options when deciding on how to approach different situations I could enter a screen assess which advantage I had if any and then pick a best plan of attack without worrying about running out of ammowell mostly if I was ever running low on bullets it was entirely my fault for wasting them by missing too much one of the funniest parts of this whole fighting experience was that the fists were just as effective as the bullets nearly all enemies either took four punches four machete chops or four pistol bullets to go down with only a couple of stronger weapons being more effective James Bond’s fists must be made of steel to be dealing out that kind of damage and this tickled me to no end something else that burned through my resources a lot was just how much searching I had to do there are a lot of Crossroads to check out in the caves and buildings with some of them being full on mazes that may require some mapping to keep things straight on the bright side no time spent is wasted because at most dead ends there were refills for consumables or even much needed Health boosts looking at the game as a whole you might feel that playing through multiple very similar missions might start to drag the excitement down.
